Businesses Can Simplify Their Payments Processing Environment Using the New SageExchange.com Online Payment Management System

Washington (July 23, 2013)Sage North America announced today SageExchange.com, a new online payment management system for businesses looking to consolidate and streamline their payments programs. Accessible through the web and optimized for tablets and touch screen interface, SageExchange.com enables Sage Payment Solutions customers to view and manage all their credit card and ACH payment accounts, including the devices and applications connected to their payment accounts. SageExchange.com operates in a secure Payment Card Industry (PCI)-certified environment and tackles the problem of having to remember multiple user name and password combinations by streamlining access to accounts, reports, billing statements and connected payments applications with a single sign-on.

To provide customers with the value of integrated payments from web, mobile, point-of-sale (POS) terminals and inside the business software solution, SageExchange.com also seamlessly integrates with Sage accounting and enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions and select third-party software solutions. In addition, SageExchange.com provides single sign-on access to advanced services, such as international wires, converting checks to electronic bank deposits, donation payment services, recurring ACH payments, private label in-store gift cards and the new Sage Business Visa Prepaid Card program. In the near future, SageExchange.com will provide single sign-on access to online bill payment, electronic invoice management and electronic payables services.

“Today's payments marketplace is highly fragmented and confusing,” said Greg Hammermaster, president of Sage Payment Solutions, the payments division of Sage North America. “Most businesses use multiple payments vendors—each with its own support center, administrative websites and billing statements. Having multiple vendors means managing multiple contracts, dealing with an increased scope of PCI compliancy, and worse, having to keep up with various user names and passwords. Recognizing this hassle, we engineered SageExchange.com to extend only one user name and password across all payment accounts, devices and applications, offering customers significant relief and increased usability.”

The SageExchange.com management system will also provide Sage Payment Solutions customers with a drag-and-drop approach to “connecting” their payment devices with their Sage accounting and ERP software to allow them to automatically post and reconcile their payment transactions.

“Integrating payments with accounting systems has previously only been available to large businesses, given the costs and complexities of mapping and communicating the data from the POS to the back-office software,” said Hammermaster. “We designed SageExchange.com so a nontechnical person can integrate payments with an accounting system by simply dragging and dropping an icon of a registered payment solution onto the icon of their accounting solution. It’s truly that simple. And we’ll further this benefit by expanding the payments-related solutions compatible with SageExchange.com to offer businesses a menu of integrated apps and services they can turn on at their own pace—and all with a single user name and password.”

SageExchange.com facilitates the integration of web-based virtual terminals, physical POS terminals for store-front businesses, e-commerce sites, mobile devices equipped with Sage Mobile Payments, recurring ACH payments, check conversion (or remote deposit capture) and many other advanced payment features to help businesses expand their sales channels, get paid quickly, and eliminate the need to manually enter and reconcile payments in their accounting system.

Sage Mobile Service allows companies with field service technicians to be more efficient and flexible in the field. With this app, field service reps can schedule work, view completed orders, invoice and analyze from a web portal. Service employees can view detailed information such as customer service histories, work orders and approved estimates on their smartphones, leading to better customer service and higher employee productivity. From their iPhones, they can then update and complete the work order as well as collect payment easily and securely on the spot.

SageExchange.com will help increase the mobility of the average SMB professionals by allowing them to take their accounting with them using their smart phone or tablet. For example, customers will be able to query and select an invoice from their Sage accounting system, have their customer pay the invoice by credit card, process the transaction and then post back into the accounting system—all from their mobile device.

Users of SageExchange.com also benefit by viewing their payment accounts in a simple cash management layout to understand the balances of their various Sage credit card and ACH accounts on both the receivables and payables sides of the general ledger. Administratively, SageExchange.com offers permissions-based user roles, so businesses can determine the level of access employees have to the features, information and available services within the payment management system.

SageExchange.com is being previewed for Sage business partners and customers at Sage Summit 2013 in Washington, D.C., this week. The portal will be generally available in October 2013.
